On January 28, 2026, we won a historic victory. The Oregon Court of Appeals ruled that students have legal "standing" to sue the State for mismanaging the Common School Fund.
We won that ruling in part because the hearing was held at Corvallis High School, with real students in the audience. Their presence reminded the judges that this case isn't about "accounting"—it is about people.
To win the final victory, we need to show the court that students across Oregon are watching. We are looking for students to join the lawsuit as co-plaintiffs to protect the "Magnificent Endowment" of school trust lands granted to schools at statehood.
What It Means to Be a Plaintiff:
Protect the Legacy: Help ensure that the millions of acres of School Trust Lands are managed for schools, not political projects.
Civics in Action: This is a rare chance to participate in a constitutional lawsuit from the inside.
Zero Cost & Zero Risk: OASTL covers all legal fees. You are a beneficiary fighting for your rights, not a defendant.
Note for Parents: Signing this form is an expression of interest only. It is not a binding legal contract.
Once you sign up, our General Counsel, Daniel Zene Crowe, will review your information. If we proceed, we will send you a formal engagement letter to review. We handle the heavy lifting; your student just needs to be willing to stand up.
